Third Quarter Washington County Riverboat Foundation Grants Awarded

The Washington County Riverboat Foundation announced its Competitive Grant Awards last night for the fall of 2011.  WCRF Board President, Tim Putney says over $650,000 in grants are for projects around the area that will serve diverse and important needs.

Some of the larger grants awarded were $80,000 for football and track lighting at Highland Community Schools, $62,500 to the Washington Athletic Booster Club for Phase 1 of Baseball Field Renovation and $45,000 to the Crawford Township Fire Association for fire truck replacement.

8. Highland Community Schools for Robotics Science and Engineering $3,000

9. WACO Community Schools for Academic Quiz Bowl Competition $3,000

10. Washington County Extension for Snack-Nutrition Education $3,065

11. Washington Park Board for Handicap Accessible Sidewalk $4,400

12. Washington Community Schools for 3rd Grade Books for Library $4,500

13. Washington Community Schools for IPads for English Language $5,400

14. Washington Community Schools for IPads for Autistic Students $6,000

15. Old Creamery Theater Company for Production of “The Very Best of Me” $6,000

16. City of Brighton for Pumper Refurbishing and Comm. Equip $7,300

17. Riverside Ball Association for Backstop Replacement $7,750

18. Columbus Community Schools for After School Music Program $8,000
