The latest round of unemployment figures has been released by the Iowa Workforce Development and Washington County’s rate dropped for a third month. The rate in the County dropped to 4.3%, two-tenths of a percent lower than September. Washington County has a little over 11,000 people in the workforce.
Unemployment rates averaged a quarter of a percent lower in all of southeast Iowa. Keokuk County saw the lowest decrease in unemployment.
Iowa’s unemployment rate remains at six percent, three percent lower than the national figure.
