Students from Washington Junior High School are getting ready to take part in a new program next week. Principal Curt Mayer says six ninth grade students are able to take part in the Virtual Reality Education Pathfinders. He says this is a program based on leading and learning in 3D.
Principal Mayer says the school received a grant from the Washington County Riverboat Foundation to buy the software for this program.
The students will be traveling to Ottumwa next week to start creating their own virtual reality projects, 3-D models and simulations to bring back their work to help other students complete related projects.
Other southeast Iowa districts participating in this program are Mt. Pleasant, Wapello and Winfield which are part of the Great Prairie Area Education Association.
