At their council meeting on Monday, the Wellman City Council decided what days government employees would get off work for holidays. Donna Wade, City Clerk, says normally when the Christmas and New Year’s Eve holidays are on weekends, they don’t have to vote for what days to take off, but when the holidays fall on a weekend a vote is required. They decided to give full time employees a half-day off on the Friday before Christmas, and the Monday off after it. It will be the same for New Year’s Eve.
