The Washington County Board of Supervisors have approved the employment contract and agreement for Jacob Thorius as the new County Engineer. The starting salary will be almost ninety-two thousand dollars a year with the possibility for an increase after a 90‑day review.
They also passed resolutions to give Thorius the authorization of a temporary closing of County secondary roads as well as authorization to execute Farm-to-Market, Federal, and State-Aid construction projects.
Miscellaneous commission, board and committee member appointments were made as well for positions that expire the end of the year.
