The Washington County Board of Supervisors have approved an application for Regional Planning Affiliate Transportation Enhancement Funds.  County Engineer David Patterson says the Federal Transportation bill has funds available to enhance small projects.  He presented a request of applying for four hundred eighty thousand dollars toward a trail project from Richmond to Kalona.  The funds if they should be awarded would be available in late 2015.

The Board also reviewed the County Compensation Board recommendation for fiscal year 2013 elected officials’ salaries.  The Supervisors recommend elected officials receive a two point four percent increase to match the rest of the county employee’s salaries.  The new salaries would take effect July first of next year.
