The city of Washington is asking for input on how to develop the city for the future.
Mayor Sandra Johnson says the plan was last changed in 1998 and the increase in population from last year’s census prompted the need for the update. She says the areas of growth will help them plan for the future needs of the city.
Mayor Johnson says the steering committee has made a goal of increasing the population of the city by half of a percent for the next twenty years to just over 8000 people.
She says all community members can become involved in the future planning of the city by taking a survey to help with the goals of the plan.
