Washington, IA – The Washington Girls basketball team took home a 64-17 win last night to improve to 4-1 behind 19 points from Sydney Greiner who finished two rebounds shy of a double-double.

The team continued to shoot lights out from the line and coach Phil Long was pleased with the execution on both ends of the floor.

“The team stepped up and hit shots, we shot 83% from the free throw line again which is the reason we’re number one in class 3A in free throw percentage. Overall I thought our kids executed well on both ends of the floor, especially defensively.”

11 players scored in the game. Johanna Vittetoe got her first start in place of Emily Zehr, likely out until after the holiday break with a partial tear of her ACL. The Demons are back in action Saturday when they visit West Branch. We’ll have the call of both the boys and girls game on KCII and KCIIradio.com.
