Durant, Iowa – With nine seconds left in overtime, Washington senior Jake Redlinger weaved his way up court and fought through three Wildcat defenders on a baseline drive to hit the game-winning layup as time expired to pick up the 63-61 win.

Jake Redlinger scored 12 of his 18 points in the second half as the defense forced the Wildcats (1-1) into 20+ turnovers in the second half.  The Demons closed the gap to 11 points at the end of the third and head coach Bryce Smeins used a deep rotation off the bench to tire out Durant who played seven players on the night.

The Demons’ Kyle Roder scored all 11 of his points in the second frame, including a big three after a steal on an inbound play to close the gap to four late in the fourth quarter.  Roder hit a bucket with eight seconds left in regulation to force the overtime period.

The Demons (2-0) overcame a 19-point defecit against the Wildcats at home last year in the second game of the season.
