January 1st is the first day students and parent can complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid. This year the FAFSA form is easier to complete than previous years. It can now be filled out online. The website offers tips and makes some corrections automatically. It is also processed much faster than a paper copy. The FAFSA application is required to be eligible for federal and state aid. It also is sometimes required to be eligible for institutional aid. Students are not required to accept any aid they are offered. The FAFSA application can be found online at www.fafsa.gov.
