The Washington County Extension office now has tax guides available for farmers. Nancy Adrian with the Extension office says farmers’ taxes are much more difficult than the average taxpayer’s. She says the guide has sections on farm rentals, agricultural program payments, and different accounting methods, as well as other topics. She says the guides are free and can be found at the Washington County Extension office, or at a few tax firms around Washington County. She adds that for more help with taxes, farmers can call the ISU Extension and the IRS has information available for farmers.
