Lone Tree, IA – Lone Tree improved to 6-0 with an 82-75 win over IMS, sending them to their second straight loss and ending IMS’ 63-game conference win streak that dated back to 2007.
Lion coach Tom Squires said the depth of his bench and rebounding were the keys to the win.
“We got 28 points from our bench last night and that was the big difference in the game. IMS had a couple kids sick and they weren’t as deep as they have been in the past. Plus we dominated them on the boards, outrebounded them by 15 and got to the free throw line more. I thought those were the keys to the basketball game.”
Lone Tree’s Bryan Forbes led all scorers with 28 points, connecting on 10-of-12 free throwns, including some clutch ones late in the fourth. IMS was led by Chance Miller who poured in 25, hitting 4-of-7 from distance.
