The Post Office wants to share reminders on how to still receive your mail whenever there is winter weather in the forecast.  Washington Post Master John Marshall says to make sure the approach to your curbside box is clean.  He says for carriers who have to walk, to make sure your steps are cleared of any snow and ice.

Marshall says if you don’t clear a path for the mail carrier, you will first be notified by the Post Office to remind you to clear away any snow and after that, your mail will be held at the Post Office until it is safe for the mail to be delivered.  If you would like more information, contact your local Post Office.
