The enrollment numbers for Iowa’s school districts have been released. While many districts around the state have seen significant losses, local schools have remained steady. Washington School District’s enrollment numbers have not changed from last year. They still sit at 1,740 students. Over five years they have only had a two percent decrease in enrollment. Mid-Prairie lost sixteen students, a one percent drop from last year, seven percent less than five years ago. Keota Schools lost one student from last year, with only a six percent drop over five years.Mark Schneider, superintendent of Mid-Prairie and Keota Schools, says open enrollment levels helped to keep their numbers stable.
