The Henry County Sheriff’s Office reports that they have received calls about a telephone scam. The scammer tells the intended victim that he is a representative with Medicare. After some conversation the scammer asks for the intended victims banking information. The caller is described as having a Middle Eastern accent. The Washington County Safety Center has not received any reports of these calls, but the Henry County Sheriff’s Office reminds everyone that they should never give out personal information over the phone. No legitimate business or organization will contact someone by phone and ask for this information.
