Membership in the Iowa Cattlemen’s Association (ICA) has increased in the last year.  Dal Grooms with the Iowa Cattlemen’s Association says membership for the year is just under 9500.  He says Washington County’s membership increased in the last year by 10 percent.

This past year’s success was credited to the group’s more proactive involvement in core issues, as well as the work of local members to reach out to fellow cattle producers.

Grooms adds there are 97 organized associations and the ICA has already passed the 50 percent mark in renewals and new enrollments for the 2012 membership year.
