Winter weather has arrived to the area and the dangers of exposure to hypothermia are present.  Washington County Public Health Program Director Chrystal Woller says you should be watchful for the different signs of shivering and exhaustion, confusion, memory loss and drowsiness.

Woller says you should get into a warm room or shelter and remove any wet clothing to stop hypothermia.  She adds to dress in layers and not to stay outside for a long period of time.

If you would like to learn more about hypothermia, you are encouraged to contact your doctor or Washington County Public Health.
