Washington, IA – Wrestling season gets back underway starting Tuesday for a few of the eight area teams.  The initial Iowa High School Wrestling Coaches Association Dual Team Rankings recently released by the IWOCA are posted below as well.  Here is how the eight area teams wound up looking entering winter break.

Columbus Community
-2-3 record after losing last two to L&M and Mediapolis heading to winter break
-opens January Tuesday at Sigourney duels where they’ll also see Iowa Valley and Moravia
-square off against Muscatine and New London on Thursday
-Jesus Amigon (113) and Ray Quiroz (106) both 5-0

-3-6 after losing 4-of-last-5 to enter break (lone win vs. Sigourney)
-hosts Wapello and West Burlington January 5th
-Travis Cole (113) and Jess Hahn (132) both 9-0

-won two-of-three duals at Waco to finish before break with 3-6 record
-Senior Stephen Clubb (220) leading team with 16-2 record
-host duals with Iowa Valley, Columbus Community, Moravia on Tuesday

-host Waco and West Branch Thursday
-freshman Alex Yedlik (145) with 10-2 record

-entered winter break 4-2 after splitting with Tipton and West Liberty
-sophomore Phirom Peterschmidt (145) 15-5; freshman Josh Murphy (106) 13-6
-meet Fairfield and Keokuk Thursday

-lost four of last five to enter break at 2-5 with wins over West Burlington and Highland
-Kevin Anderson (145) posted record of 10-4
-square off against Lone Tree and West Branch before the Van Buren Invitational the following Saturday

-improved to 9-0 heading to winter break after sweeping the Dike-New Hartford Invitational
-Parker Turner (145) and Fletcher Green (106) both 9-0; Austin (152) and Tanner (138) Knupp each 7-2
