The Washington County Board of Supervisors have appointed the new auditor.  During yesterday’s meeting, Dan Widmer was chosen to replace Bill Fredrick as the next auditor.  Widmer was one of five candidates who interviewed for the auditor’s position.

Fredrick’s last day is the end of the month.  Each Supervisor noted based on speaking with various county employees and looking at each candidate, the decision was difficult to pick Widmer.

The Supervisors also passed a resolution of releasing a small amount of land to the Highland School District.  The District will pay the county $250 for an area that is approximately 400 feet by 17 feet.

They also approved the loan agreement and issuance of the general obligation refund bonds.  The process for this loan agreement started last week.

Look here to hear comments from Bill Fredrick about his time served in Washington County and the selection process of Widmer.
