The Washington County Board of Supervisors have agreed to begin the process of refunding the county’s General Obligation Correctional Facility Bonds.  These bonds can result in a significant savings to the county.  This refunding process was started in November last year.

Depending on the interest rate next week, Jeff Heil with Northland Securities says the sale could happen next Monday.  The Supervisors will be asked to accept the agreement as part of their meeting next week.

The Supervisors also appointed the Chairperson and Vice-Chairperson for 2012.    Jim Miksch will remain the Chair and Adam Mangold will continue as Vice-Chair.

An application review committee was formed as well and interviews for the County Auditor’s position will begin next week.  The interview process will be considered work sessions and will open to the public.
