The Washington Police Department had a very busy weekend over New Year’s holiday weekend.  Washington Police Sergeant Shawn Ellingson says normally New Year’s is a quiet evening, but a couple of incidents happened to make this year’s celebrations unique.  He says one incident involved a suspect who was intoxicated and got into an altercation with two officers who received minor injuries.  They were treated and released from the hospital.

The second incident involved another intoxicated person who was arrested and broke a window and molding on a squad car.  The cost for the repairs is $600.

Sergeant Ellingson says both suspects will have to pay restitution for the extra charges from their actions.  KCII will bring you more information on this story as it becomes official.
