Registrations are due from area high school seniors for an opportunity to go to college with a scholarship. The Christina Hixson Award is available to high school seniors in each of Iowa’s 99 counties says Washington County Extension 4-H Youth/Coordinator Amy Green.
The awards were first given in 1995 and are awarded to 100 seniors each year as a way to show Iowa State University’s commitment to the student potential that is present in various ways beyond the measures of class rank or test scores.
The Christina Hixson program provides each student with a half-tuition grant with an estimated value of fourteen thousand dollars over eight semesters. The grants are to be used at Iowa State University.
Applications are due by February first. If you would like more information on how to apply for these awards, contact the Washington County Extension.
