Coming up this afternoon the Washington Demons will be having a special fundraising event to coincide with the Demons basketball teams hosting Tipton.  Angie Leyden, Washington Athletic Booster member says this is the third year of the Coaches versus Cancer events.  She says this was started at the request of Coach Phil Long to involve the American Cancer Society because of many local families affected by cancer.

Leyden says during the events, there will be different half-time activities, 50-50 raffles, a silent auction as well as some of the boys basketball players who will shave their heads at the end of the evening.

All of the events begin with the freshman girls’ game at 1:30 today with the proceeds raised going to The American Cancer Society Relay for Life of Washington County.
