The deadline to sign up for area high school girls to have an opportunity to learn more about Iowa’s politics is today.  Amy Green, 4-H and Youth Coordinator at the Washington County Extension says girls in grades nine through twelve have a chance to see what happens during Iowa’s General Assembly next month.

She says those wishing to take part in Capitol Girls will have an opportunity to shadow women legislators as well as learn about how state laws and budgets are developed and passed.

The applications are due today for a chance to be involved in this third annual program which is taking place February 8th.  For more information, contact Amy Green at the Washington County Extension.
