Washington, IA – The Washington Demons dominated their quad last night, defeating English Valleys 72-6, Tipton 76-3, and Lone Tree 65-12.
Head coach Brent Van Weeldon was clearly happy with the showing and glad to see some of his more inexperienced wrestlers get a chance to shine.
“We went out and really did what we were supposed to do. Some of our more inexperienced kids were able to wrestle kids with their own ability. We lost some of those matches but won some of those matches so overall it was a pretty good night.”
On the night the Demons lost just four matches and won 18 by fall. (full results below) Van Weeldon will join the PM Sports Page (6:00) tonight to recap the Gary Curtis Invitational, their meets last night, and preview Thursday and Saturday’s matches.
