The USDA is proposing office closures all across the country to eliminate redundancies in service and reduce costs. The Fairfield Natural Resource Conservation office is one of the many planned closures. The Fairfield Office is one of 24 NRCS offices that will be closed across the country. This closure, along with the closures of many other offices of the USDA will save around $150 million for US Taxpayers. These cuts were announced yesterday as part of Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack’s plan for the USDA, Blueprint for Stronger Service. Overall, 259 of the USDA offices will be closed across the country as part of this plan. KCII will continue to monitor this story and will bring you updates as they become official.
