While many people were at the caucuses on Tuesday, the Kalona City Council was having a meeting. They had a final reading of the golf cart ordinance and voted unanimously to approve it. They had been talking about the golf cart ordinance for several meetings. There are restrictions on the use of golf carts in the city limits.

The carts can only be used while the sun is up unless it is being used to travel to or from a school or city event. The carts must have headlights and they have a speed limit of 25 miles per hour.

They will not be allowed to travel on highways 1 and 22 but are allowed to cross them. They also approved improvements to the A Avenue bridge at a cost of nearly $500,000 dollars.
