The Kalona City Council will have their first meeting of the year tonight. They will have final discussions on the Golf Cart Ordinance and Improvements to the A Avenue Bridge. They will vote on whether golf carts will be allowed on city streets, with some restrictions including times of day when the golf carts can be used, a requirement for headlights, and a speed limit. The will approve a resolution for the improvements to the bridge at a cost of $494,750.84. They will also continue their discussion of new FEMA Mapping and will consider and appointment to fill a vacancy on the council.
