The Keokuk County Master Gardeners will be hosting a program featuring Vickie Gonterman, the manager of the Outdoor Floral Department at the Washington Hyvee, and a Master Gardener of Washington County. Gonterman says to become a master gardener, you have to take classes through Iowa State Extension, and must complete classes every year and do community work to continue to be certified as a master gardener. The program she will be presenting will be about new varieties of shrubs, trees, and perennials that will be available this year. She says that she will take questions after the presentation. The program is February 9th at 6pm in the Keokuk County Extension Office.
