West Branch, IA – The Mid-Prairie boys’ basketball team dropped a Cedar Valley Conference contest Friday night 63-35 at West Branch in game two of a doubleheader with the Bears. In a game heard on KCII and KCII radio.com, The Bears jumped out to a 16-4 midway through the second quarter. Mid-Prairie put a run together to cut the lead to nine behind eight second quarter points from Jaemin Powell, Powell ended the game with 13 points to lead the Golden Hawks. The Bears would stretch the lead to as many as 30 behind 18 points from Brandon Young and 13 from Rylan Murry.
