Iowa City, IA - Mid Prairie won 2-of-3 matches, winning 43-42 over Highland and defeating Regina 47-24. The Golden Hawks squeaked by the Huskies by the criteria H tie-breaker rule, the eighth tiebreaker that is decided by the team having the greater number of first-points in a match. No tie-breaker needed for the match against Regina as the Golden Hawks dominated 47-24. Columbus Community out-pointed Mid Prairie 45-30. Mid Prairie’s Chase Murray (138) was 3-0 on the night, with two wins by fall. At 132, Kendall Bontrager won two matches by fall, and lost a close match to Columbus Community’s Austin Edwards 2-0 in overtime. Nearoth Peterschmidt won his only match by fall. The Golden Hawks head to West Branch tomorrow night for a quad that also includes Mount Pleasant and Wilton.
