Late last month, the National guard announced that they would have to cut the financial aid given to its members from 90% to 50%. On Thursday the Senate Appropriations Committee unanimously agreed that they would re-appropriate $1.3 million in funding to help fund financial aid to the guardsmen who need it. The Senate will vote on this issue some time in the coming weeks. Senator Sandy Greiner says she supports it completely and doesn’t think there will be many in the senate who don’t. She expects it to pass quickly and says we should know more about it by the weekend.
