Funds are available for those wishing to protect Iowa’s natural resources.  Teresa Munn with the Washington County Soil and Water Conservation District says the money comes from the Resource Enhancement and Proection (REAP) Program.  These funds are used to set up permanent practices with landowners.

These landowners can use farmstead windbreaks, field windbreaks, timber stand improvements, tree plantings, site preparations for natural regeneration and conservation cover.

To find out more information and to apply for funding, contact the Washington County Soil and Water Conservation District in Washington County at 1621 East Washington in Washington or call 319-653-6654.
