An opportunity for area high school girls to learn more about Iowa’s politics is available. Amy Green, 4-H and Youth Coordinator at the Washington County Extension says high school girls in grades nine through twelve have this chance to see what happens during Iowa’s General Assembly in February.
She says those wishing to take part in Capitol Girls will have an opportunity to shadow women legislators as well as learn about how state laws and budgets are developed and passed.
The applications are due by January 13th for a chance to be involved in this third annual program which takes place February 8th.
