Washington County Sheriff Jerry Dunbar is passing along a message to area business owners.  Ben Jamison, a former salesman with Gold Star magazine has been using letters from when he was with the company several years ago to solicit ads for an Iowa law enforcement magazine.

Sheriff Dunbar says this was first noticed when a sheriff in another county was contacted about Jamison and county letterhead being used.

He says this could be happening in central Iowa, but wants to advise businesses in the area about this issue.  Sheriff Dunbar says Ben Jamison is not authorized to sell ads on his behalf.  For more information, contact his office.
