As previously reported, a Washington Community School District van transporting cheerleaders to a wrestling event in Fairfield was involved in a rollover accident around 9:30 Saturday morning near Pleasant Plain due to a thick glaze of ice on area roadways. Principal Erik Buchholz has informed us that the x-ray and CT scans have shown no injuries to a cheerleader who was taken to the hospital after the incident. The van was equipped with seat belts and no one was injured in the accident. Buchholz would like to thank their cheer leading sponsor, parents and cheerleaders for their ability to handle the situation with such empathy and caring.
