A Washington resident is being featured on a national television program tonight.  Michael Powers of Washington tried out last summer for the reality TV program “American Idol.”  He says he was part of 15,000 other people to try out for the show.

Powers says about 300 made it to the next level of the competition that day.  He says he had four more auditions before performing before the actual judges of the show.

Powers adds he was nervous for the first audition, but was not by the time he performed in front of the judges.  He can’t share how far he made it through the competition and the episode featuring Powers should be airing on FOX tonight.
