The deadline is next week for high school seniors interested in studying agriculture or natural resources in college to apply for the Washington Soil and Water Conservation District and Dean Gerot family scholarship.  Teresa Munn with the Soil and Water Conservation District says these annual scholarships are given to Iowa High School seniors that will be used for their first year of college education.  The winning applicant will receive a $1000 scholarship with regional winners receiving $300 and three scholarships will be awarded on the state level as well.

The deadline is March first for applications to be submitted.  Interested high school Seniors living in Washington County can contact their high school guidance office or the Washington Soil and Water Conservation District for more information.
