During the Washington County Board of Supervisors meeting yesterday, they approved two agreements for Hawkeye Area Community Action Program (HACAP) services. The first agreement will be for HACAP’s Head Start program to use facilities at Orchard Hill. The second is a ten-year lease agreement where HACAP will pay $3000 a month to the County for the use of the building for the first five years and that rate will adjusted based on the Consumer Price Index for the next five years. The lease will be effective upon when the site will be available.
Also during the meeting, a bid letting date was established for a road grading project on Dogwood Avenue from 190th Street to Highway 22. The bids will be let at 9:00 on Tuesday, March 20th and will be awarded during that day’s Supervisor’s meeting.
A plan and cost estimate to modify the interior steps on the south side of the Courthouse was discussed. This project will include fixing the bottom of these steps, recovering the step risers and replacing the current hand rail with an oak railing. The cost of this one to two week project is a little over $5600 and will be done by Custom Builders of Washington.
