The Washington and Fairfield Chambers of Commerce had a very busy day yesterday in Des Moines. The Chamber’s Day at the Capitol consisted of both groups meeting with a lobbyist about business and industry in Iowa as well as hearing from the policy advisor to the Department of Education Director.
The group also was able to enjoy lunch with Representative Jarad Klein and Senator Sandy Greiner. Also in attendance at the lunch was Speaker of the House Craig Paulsen, Senator Steve Sodders who is the Chair of the Economic Growth Committee.
The group was also visited by Representative Curt Hansen spoke about education reform, Representative Bob Hager talked about what is happening on the Natural Resources Committee and House Majority Leader Linda Upmeyer also addressed the group.
The day concluded with a tour of the capitol building.
