The City of Kalona is seeking the acquisition of the B4 building, which currently houses Grandma’s Corner Shop. The businesses will be closing down, and the city is looking to rehabilitate the 7,000 square foot building into a “well defined public space”.

The city council and chamber of commerce discussed this issue briefly at their meeting on Monday, but there will be a public hearing held on March 5th. The council is looking for input from chamber members on this issue. KCII will continue to follow this story and bring you more information as it becomes official.
