The City of Keota had a special council meeting on Wednesday to discuss the city’s budget for the 2012-2013 year. The managers from each department gave presentations on their expected budget needs for next year, and also gave input on what they would like to see in salary increases. Compensation for the chemical team for the pool was discussed, and they will discuss further whether to have those be paid by salary or hourly wages. They also passed a motion that will give employees a 4.5% increase in their salary. The budget will still need to be approved at the next meeting before it is ready for a public hearing.
