Today is the last day to buy tickets for the National Wildlife Turkey Federation fund raiser coming up Saturday.  Committee member Don Pfeiffer says this fundraiser is held for wild turkey conservation.  He says the wild turkeys mainly live in trees, but they will live around grasslands and weeded areas for food for their young.

Pfeiffer notes turkeys were introduced back to Iowa in the 1970s and 1980s by the Department of Natural Resources and can be found in every county in Iowa.  The cost for a membership to the Turkey Federation and dinner is $50.

The dinner and auction will be held at the Knights of Columbus Hall in Washington.  Reservations are due today by contacting Don Pfeiffer.
