Marr Park in Ainsworth has several new additions in the works. Director of the County Conservation Board Steve Anderson says they have expanded the campgrounds, and are almost finished with that project. He says they just need to put up new signs and it will be finished by the start of the camping season. They are also planning a trail that would connect Ainsworth to Marr Park. A contractor has been hired for this project, and construction is set to begin in April. They expect construction to be completed by June. The funding is already available for that path through a grant from the Riverboat Foundation and funding from the IDOT among other groups. They are also almost done with a project that involved remodeling a popular shelter in the park.
