Wellman Issues Boil Order

As previously reported, there was a water main break in Wellman on Monday. The city has issued a boil advisory. They are advising residents to boil their water for 2 minutes before use.

Branstad Looks at New Standardized Testing

Iowa Education Officials are looking at the possibility of ending the long standing Iowa Test of Basic Skills in favor of a test called the Smarter Balanced Assessment. The officials hope that this will shift the focus of standardized test from what they call a trivial pursuit type testing, to an assessment that focuses on critical thinking.

Wellman Water Main Break Update

The city of Wellman is announcing they will be shutting off water beginning at 1:00 this afternoon.  This will be to repair a water main break which occurred on 8th Avenue near 7th Street.
