The Washington County Board of Supervisors have passed some resolutions as part of their meeting yesterday. The first resolution was for an acknowledgement of a grant application to the Washington County Riverboat Foundation for Washington County Public Health. This application will be for a school led garden at Ainsworth Elementary and at Lincoln Elementary. The gardens are part of the Healthiest State Initiative.
The second resolution is for participation in a 28E contracting consortium with Washington County Mental Health. Bobbi Wulf says this is a one year contract of working with ten other counties in providing mental health services.
The Supervisors also discussed an agreement with Washington County Sheriff Jerry Dunbar about providing health care to incarcerated individuals. Sheriff Dunbar explained the county is responsible for an inmate’s health care while they are in custody and this agreement will be to allow health care services be provided in Washington County as much as possible. This funding will increase by one dollar per inmate.
Following their meeting, a work session was held for the five year road plan update. This road plan covers upcoming construction projects within the county over the next five years.
