With the dry winter that’s coming to a close, and a dry summer predicted as well, many states have warned farmers that they should get crop insurance for their fields. But deadlines for crop insurance are coming up. The sales closing date is March 15th. Ann Williams with Farm Bureau Financial Services tells us that Iowa’s farmers have been advised to purchase crop insurance this year. She says crop insurance protects field from a variety of problems, from hail and wind, to dry weather and soil.
