State filing for elected positions ended yesterday at 5:00 pm. In our area, we have 7 candidates to consider. In State Representative District 78 Jarad Klein, a Republican incumbent is running against Priscilla Marlar of Wayland.

In State Senate District 42, Lee Harder of Hillsboro and Larry W. Kruse of Donnellson are running on the Republican ticket. On the other side in District 42 there are three candidates. Donna Amandus and Bob Morawitz, both from Fort Madison, and Rich Taylor of Mt. Pleasant will be running for the Democratic ticket.

County Candidate filing ends on March 28th, with elections starting June 5th at 7:00 am.
