Iowa County Man and Woman Sentenced for Possessing Drugs

A man and woman from Iowa County have been sentenced to federal prison for drug possession. [simage=3024,400,n,center]
31 year old Andrea Stroud and 46 year old Kent Bradley Miller, both of North English were sentenced in US District Court in Cedar Rapids after pleading guilty to the possession of pseudoephedrine knowing or intending it would be used in the manufacture of methamphetamine.
Stroud pled guilty in September 2010 and was sentenced February 14th of this year. Miller pled guilty in October 2010 and was sentenced on March 1st.
The case was investigated by the Washington County Sheriff’s Office, the Iowa County Sheriff’s Office, the Washington-Louisa Drug Task Force, the Johnson County Multi-Agency Drug Task Force, and the Iowa Division of Narcotics Enforcement.
Stroud was sentenced to 46 months’ imprisonment. Miller received a sentence of 87 months imprisonment. Both Stroud and Miller were required to pay a $100 special assessment, and each must serve a 3-year term of supervised release following their prison terms.
Miller was already serving a 30-month sentence for violating a previous term of supervised release stemming from a prior federal methamphetamine conviction. There is no parole in the federal system.
Stroud and Miller are each being held in the United States Marshal’s custody until they can be transported to a federal prison. Court file information is available at here . The case file numbers are 11-CR-144 for Stroud and 11-CR-150 for Miller.
