Senator Tom Harkin is announcing grants for two Iowa Fire Departments. The Letts Fire Department in Louisa County will be getting most of the grant funding, with the Anamosa Fire Department near Cedar Rapids getting a smaller portion. The Funding is being granted by the Department of Homeland Security’s Assistants to Fire Departments Program. The Letts Fire Department is getting nearly $350,000 dollars for operations and safety. The Anamosa Fire Department will receive almost $85,000.
